With bond interest rates going down all over the world, some banks are offering higher interest rates through High Yield Savings Accounts. Whether they be a percentage above Libor, or any other base interest rate, these savings account yield significantly more than other fixed income instruments.
A big part of this has come from the new Online Banking Institutions, which, due to their lower overhead, brand new equipment, and mostly young people, are able to offer higher rates, better deals, and are being seen as the new go-to investment for those in the higher income brackets as the future of money goes digital.
